Raul Campos

Raul Campos

By Dennis Romero

One of the city’s hardest working DJs is getting much deserved marquee treatment these days. After showing Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa a few turntable tricks at an event last year, and then unleashing his debut mix-CD, Loteria Beats Mixtape Volume 1, Campos is ready for his closeup as the opener for star DJ Dimitri From Paris. Campos’s weeknight radio show on KCRW (89.9 FM) ranges from bubbly electronic dub to full-on techno. But his heart still beats to house music, so you can expect some hand-raising bangers to well up from the bottom of his soul at Deep on Sunday.

Deep presents Raul Campos, with Dimitri From Paris, Sun. at Vanguard, 6021 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood. 21+. Doors at 9:30 p.m. Tickets: $20 advance. Info: deep-la.com.
