Braille Institute of America. "Dining in the Dark." Opaque, the first L.A. restaurant to serve patrons in total darkness, joins forces with the BIA to raise funds for the institute. A benefit concert with Latin funk-soul band Fredalba, Sanskirt chantress Donna Delorey, and the Taal Dancers are among the many acts, plus fashion, and art, in this event seeking to raise funds and awareness for the indigenous people of the Amazon rain forest and the victimized women and children of Juárez, Mexico. The Fulfillment Fund. "4th Annual Summer Splash." Jump for Joi Children's Foundation. "Children and Teen Model Auditions." In anticipation of the foundation's "20th Annual Pre-Holiday Fashion Show and Brunch Fundraiser," kids and teens are invited to audition for modeling positions.
